Create informative panels for a new exhibit coming to Gateway Science Museum allowing visitors to travel through prehistoric eras and learn about the fossil record and geological information found during those periods. Based on templates created by Bart Hays.
To coincide with this significant fossil discovery Gateway Science Museum began planning the exhibit “Fossils & Formations”. Working alongside the Chico State GEOS Department and the Mechoopda Tribal Council, expert paleontologists began developing content which would convey a story to the public as they traveled through the exhibit. It was then my responsibility to take this content and develop it into pieces that both captured the viewers attention and provided them the backstory of this find and it’s significance. I felt a connection to the land was hugely inherent in this exhibit and incorporated a topographical pattern behind many elements. Images from both the field excavation of these fossils as well as 3D renderings were gathered to tell the story of ancient mammals on display.
In addition to the exhibit I created merchandise in the form of a t-shirt line featuring four major fossils featured in the exhibit printed on colors relating to those featured in the exhibit itself. I also designed a coinciding fossil sticker series which is currently being printed.
