Problem
Redesign the book Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau in a way that inspires new interest.
Solution
Thoreau was disgusted with the idea slavery. His text was written as a call to conscientious citizens to be the counter-friction which stops the wheels of oppression from turning. This edition of the book turns Thoreau’s call to action into a protest handbook which could be used as a tool for people fighting racial and social injustice. It provides practical information such as a copy of protesters’ rights, their rights when being questioned by police, and how to treat the effects of pepper spray or tear gas. Blank pages are also provided, inviting people to record their own additional information.
